Chairman of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Division at the Soroka Medical Center in Beer Sheba and head of the division of Gynecology at the Faculty of Health Sciences at the Ben Gurion University in Beer Sheba

Proff. Eitan Lunenfeld, 53, M.D., M.Sc. health systems management, Chairman of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Division at the Soroka Medical Center in Beer Sheba, an associate professor and head of the division of Gynecology at the Faculty of Health Sciences at the Ben Gurion University, is one of Israel's senior and most prominent doctors in the field of men and women fertility.

A graduate of the first class of the Faculty of Health Sciences, Professor Lunenfeld spent most of his medical and scientific career at the Soroka Medical Center and at the Faculty of Health Sciences of the Ben Gurion University.

During his internship he spent a year at the department of endocrinology at the Yale University in the United States.

Professor Lunenfeld teaches his field of expertise, and served as a guest lecturer both in Israel and abroad. He is the author of numerous professional papers and medical researches, especially in the field of fertility. Professor Lunenfeld also serves as a reviewer of research proposals and leading professional publications in his field of expertise. In recent years he researches human male stem cells.

In recent years Professor Lunenfeld is also involved in the development of computerized systems supporting medical decision process. For his achievements he was awarded by the Feldman foundation and served as a guest professor at the Department of Medical Information at the Stanford University in the United States.

In addition to his professional positions, Professor Lunenfeld serves in various public positions, including Vice Chairman of the Israeli Association of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Chairman of its southern branch.

Professor Lunenfeld has also served as Chairman of the Israeli Medical Schools Internship Committee, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences at the Ben Gurion University, understudy director of The Leon and Matilda Recanati School for Community Health Professions at the Ben Gurion University, and Chairman of the Soroka Medical Center Internship Board.

He was also a member of the Israeli Medical Association Scientific Board Internship Committee and a member of the Israeli Fertility Association (where he has also served as a member of the board).
